Capital One 0/6 folklore vs reality

The folklore
"Cap One denies if you've opened any card in the last 6 months." This is mostly a myth but it has truth buried in it.
What actually happens
Cap One looks at your full credit picture. Too many recent new accounts is one signal among many. Unlike Chase 5/24 or Amex 2/90, there is no hard rule.
The real constraint: two-card limit
Cap One typically limits you to 2 personal credit cards total (Venture, Savor, Quicksilver, etc. count — secured cards don't). Walmart Mastercard, Kohl's, and other subprime-branded Cap One cards don't count.
The hard pull trio
Cap One pulls all three bureaus on personal apps. This is painful. Freezing 2 of 3 bureaus can force them to a single bureau, sometimes.
