The informal rules
- Usually won't approve if you've opened 6 or more cards in the last 24 months across all issuers.
- Sensitive to total revolving credit already extended by Barclays.
- Will often approve if you close an existing Barclays card and then apply.
The recon game
Barclays recon lines are helpful and usually willing to move credit from an existing card to approve a new one. Call if you're denied.
